We all know about Global warming and most of us know there’s not a lot we can do about it personally but a recent discovery shows that some of us can do a lot more than we think. Cars and other forms of travel produce about 0.02% of CO2 in the atmosphere, cows produce 2.01% in the form of methane gas from flatulence so if we all became vegetarian and walked a bit more it would still only be a reduction of just over 2% Industry can account for a further 4.5% so where is the huge amounts of CO2 in the earth’s atmosphere coming from?

The answer and possibly the scientific breakthrough of the century came from cancer research. During studies on lung cancer patients increased temperatures of blackened lung tissue particularly intrigued and confused Dr Harold Macmillan. After years of research in to this phenomenon he discovered a mutated formation of the CO2 in these tissues now called CO2x.

The reason CO2 it dangerous and causing global warming is that it is heat absorber, so the more CO2 in the atmosphere the more heat is kept in causing heating of the atmosphere leading to increased temperatures of the earth’s core, which over time will cause severe changes in the climate of the earth.

The mutated forms of CO2x found in lung cancer patients were found to be able to hold nearly 16 times as much heat as normal CO2. This is partially what causes the blackened lung tissue these superconductors literally cook lungs. The CO2x mutation is caused by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons like benzo(a)pyrene or BAP present in almost all cigarette brands.

Scientists are still trying to do the exact math but what they can say for sure is that 90% of the excess heat in the atmosphere is from smoking cigarettes, they believe that if the government banned smoking the natural wastage of the CO2x in the air would deplete to normal levels within 5 years putting huge pressure on scientists to get the figures sorted soon and even more pressure on the government to come up with policy and plan to implement making Smoking cigarettes Illegal.

The government has a big task ahead of them in making cigarettes illegal but with the fate of the world hanging in the balance they can’t quit but you can.
